In 1992, Arsenal Women made history by winning the inaugural WFA National League Cup — becoming the first team to lift the trophy. Completing a memorable season that also saw Arsenal win the Division One South title.
The beginning of a legacy that would go on to make Arsenal one of the most successful clubs in women’s football.
In 1993 they won both the Women's FA Cup and the WFA National League Cup. The cup double marked another major step in establishing the Gunners as a dominant force in English women's football.
Players such as Marieanne Spacey, Debbie Bampton and Linda Curl were key figures during this successful period under manager Vic Akers.
In 1994, Arsenal Women faced Doncaster Belles in the WFA National League Cup Final, continuing one of the biggest rivalries in early women’s football. Arsenal produced a dominant performance, winning 4-0 at Cambridge United’s Abbey Stadium to lift the trophy for the third consecutive season.
